Their mission is to teach the art of musical theatre in a positive, supportive, creative and FUN atmosphere.

Todd Aikens- Director

It wouldn't be summer at Phoenix Productions without Todd Aikens, a Phoenix Trustee, Director, Performer, Stage Manager,Teaching Artist and one of the driving forces that initially launched Camp Phoenix more than a decade ago. Todd served as director for November's Phoenix revival of A Christmas Story. As a performer, he most recently appeared as Uncle Jocko and Cigar in our 2016 production of Gypsy. Todd is the Drama Director at Shore Regional High School. He is the recipient of the 2014-15 Basie Award for Outstanding Direction in a Musical.

Beth Moore- Musical Director

Beth has been an active musical director at Phoenix Productions since our 2002 revival of The King & I (a role she reprised for the 2010 production). Her most recent Phoenix experience was wielding the baton for The Sound of Music in September 2014. Beth teaches vocal music at Central Regional High School, and is in high demand as a musical director, coach and accompanist.

Robert Sammond- Music Director

Bob is a long-standing staff member of Phoenix's main stage productions and year-round education. The current Musical Director of the 2017 main stage revival of Beauty and the Beast, he appeared as musical director for our September 2016 revival of Gypsy and our April 2016 revival of The Little Mermaid.

Tara Eccles-Frye- Choreographer

Tara not only has been performing with Phoenix Productions since she was a teenager, but is also an original Camp Phoenix Staff Member.  She started as a Camp Assistant during our first years of Camp Phoenix and has worked her way up to one of our favorite instructors.  She is currently the owner of Emotion in Motion dance studio. Tara was nominated for a 2014-15 Basie Award for Outstanding Choreography in a Musical (Annie at Shore Regional High School). She most recently choreographed Phoenix's 2013 production of Anything Goes.

Placement auditions are required to participate in either or both of these fully costumed summer workshop productions and are open to performers in grades 1 – 12. No prior experience is needed to audition. The Rising Stars cast is made up of both principal and ensemble roles. Actors cast in a principal role will have speaking lines and/or solos. Actors in the ensemble sing and dance as part of a group, and while there are several additional featured opportunities they do not always have individual lines or solos.
