Phoenix Productions Auditions

At Phoenix, auditions are always open and no roles are cast until auditions are over. Auditions usually take place 8-10 weeks prior to a production.  The format will vary depending on the production and the director but here are some general guidelines:

Typically you are asked to bring sheet music in your key. (Don't have sheet music in your key? Visit www.musicnotes.com or www.sheetmusic.com where you can purchase and download most show music already transposed into your key.) Be prepared to sing 16 bars (measures) of the song, so plan for the 16 bars that best show off your voice. An accompanist is provided and you can befriend that accompanist by clearly marking your music to make it easy to follow.
 
More than likely, you will also be asked to perform a dance combination that you will be taught so bring or wear suitable dance attire including appropriate shoes.
